About

Grace Mercado-Quinn (b. 2005, Los Angeles, CA) is an interdisciplinary artist and poet who now creates and writes in Chicago, IL. She is in her third year of undergraduate studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Additionally, in the summer of 2025, she completed a semester at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, Germany by invitation from Professor Rita McBride.

She uses both traditional and non-traditional methods of painting and drawing by working with a wide range of two-dimensional mediums including ink, graphite, charcoal, watercolor, and printmaking techniques such as cyanotypes and block printing. In the finalized presentations of her more recent works, she has implemented found ephemera, collected objects, and sculpture to inform the imagery used, forming an altar-like presence. Through combining her figurative imagery with special objects, an almost sacred installation of honoring the “flaws” of femininity is born.
